Cable Water Ski

This system, one of only a handful in the country, provides visitors with the opportunity to experience the excitement and exhilaration of water skiing at a fraction of the cost of boat skiing.

The pull is provided by an overhead cable powered by an electric motor. This system has the advantages of being self contained so as not to affect the other uses of the lake, no erosion of the banks since no speedboat is required and it allows up to 8 skiers to ski at once. The circuit is almost half a mile in length and the speed can be varied from a beginners 27Km/hr up to a huge 58Km/hr for expert slalom skiers.

A purpose built ski lodge provides toilets, changing facilities, hot showers and serves hot and cold drinks, snacks, confectionery and ice cream. The facility is open daily April to November and prices include tuition, skis or kneeboard and a buoyancy aid. Whilst their are no age limits skiers must be able to swim at least 50 metres.

Prices are dependent on length of hire, size of group and period of the week, for current prices and further details telephone 01142 511717 or visit their website at sheffieldcablewaterski.com.
